Amplify
High-potential employees are an organization’s future leaders. Magellan’s Amplify program is aimed at equipping them with the cornerstone skills needed to increase their influence and maximize their potential.
About the Program
Magellan’s Amplify program was designed to help new leaders successfully transition from an individual contributor to one that leads others.
Amplify: For High Potential Employees
What’s Covered
Magellan’s Amplify Program focuses on four key skills:
Skill 1 – Understanding yourself
Becoming aware of our own individual strengths and blind spots is critical for maximizing our potential. In this topic, every attendee will be given a Strengths Finder assessment prior to the session, that will be reviewed during the session. This assessment will allow the attendee to understand their specific strengths, the areas in which they may need to learn additional skills, and the potential blind spots they will need to manage.
Skill 2 – Leadership when you’re not in charge
Leadership isn’t about a particular position, it’s about having influence. This skill will focus on the following key topics:
- Understanding the five different types of leadership Power.
- Developing an Owner mentality, as opposed to a Renter mentality.
- Understanding the keys to individual success – Positivity, Network, and developing a ‘Get To’ vs a ‘Have To’ mindset.
- What it means to ‘own your career’.
Skill 3 – Developing a Impactful ‘Presence’
Your ‘presence’ is all about how you carry yourself and the perception that others have of you. Are you confident or arrogant? Are you credible or a pretender? We communicate all of these things both verbally and non-verbally and that ‘communication’ directly impacts others’ perception of us. In this Skill we will focus on things like:
- Understanding how we really communicate
- Understanding & developing ‘EQ’, i.e., human cognizance & empathy
- Understanding the 5 C’s of Presence
Skill 4 – Developing some Key ‘Success’ Skills
Research suggest that only 25% of your success is based on your IQ. The other 75% is based on other factors. Some examples of those ‘other factors’ that we will review are:
- Managing your time wisely
- Being ‘Management Ready’
- Having difficult conversations
- Being ‘Coachable’
- Thinking critically & strategically as opposed to purely tactically
