Expertise

Mick spent 20 years on Oklahoma City television, where he covered City Hall, and 14 years as the city's mayor. He has asked voters to approve a sales tax and set a public weight-loss target for an entire city. He announced that target himself at a press conference at the city zoo, then funded wider sidewalks and a larger park to support it. In his words, the campaign held because "we never backed out of the message."

Industry

Mick works in municipal government and urban development. He spent 17 years in Oklahoma City government, first as a council member and then as mayor, after 20 years in television news and sports. Oklahoma City ranks as the 27th largest city in the U.S.
