Experience
John has been the initial investor, co-founder and/or director in early-stage medical and technology companies. He focuses on strategy, fundraising, and executive recruitment. He often serves Chairman of Boards of Directors. He asks open-ended questions and listens carefully when working on new opportunities.
John has worked in venture capital, leveraged buyouts, and early-stage company finance since 1999. Before that, he held roles in restructuring consulting, energy, and corporate business planning. He has served as chief financial officer, chief operating officer, and managing director, and has sat on boards in healthcare, medical devices, aviation software, and oil and gas.

I worked with an extraordinarily well-run small hospital in a hyper-competitive urban market. Despite our clinical and financial success, I convinced the CEO and the board to sell to a competitor.
I tell them two things. Listen first, act second. Also, you don't get any extra points for doing it yourself.
Like most people, I just like being exposed to new, interesting people. At the mixers, I almost always connect with at least one or two people I didn't know before.
