Expertise

Across more than 35 years at Conoco and Devon Energy, Glen was the lawyer leadership kept expanding his role outside any one department, from crisis command to service groups whose executive had left. He has run incident command through well emergencies and COVID, taken over leadership of aviation, security, and facilities teams whose work he could not do personally, and co-led a legal department rebuild. He walks the floor and asks each group what it needs to be successful. He gives constructive feedback by his rule: "It's not what you say, it's how you say it."

Industry

Glen spent more than 35 years in oil and gas, first with Conoco and then with Devon Energy from 1997 until 2024. He worked as a landman and in commercial development before serving as vice president and associate general counsel, supporting Devon's shared services. His work covered most major U.S. producing areas, onshore and offshore.

In their own words

Leadership Mantra?
01
A team will either excel together or fail together.
Best advice he'd give?
02
Don't forget where you came from... Number one should always be my people, because it's the easiest thing to push off.
Most fulfilling part?
03
I have no desire to practice law again or be a corporate lawyer again. But I love taking the things that I've learned and passing that along. That's what really energizes me.
